I photographed Jared Yount today. I had done some portraits of him back at the beginning of the summer and his mom wanted a few more done. We met today for a shoot at Allegheny College. It was quite a beautiful day, but not the best for getting good natural portrait lighting. (I realized today that its time I get one of those giant white discs that diffuse light.) Our main objective was to get a head and shoulders style portrait for his year book, but we also shot a few others including some shots with his girlfriend who tagged along. His mom wanted a few shots using Ford Chapel's door. When I set him up in the corner and took a shot I heard her say she didn't like the shadow cutting across his body so I only took this one frame. When I was editing it tonight I kinda liked it and decided to make it my feature picture of the day. I also wanted to include the shot below because it was just a nice moment between boyfriend and girl friend walking along in order to do something the 'old people' wanted them to do. I'm sure the last thing an 18 year old boy wants to do is meet up with his mom and a 44 year old guy he barely knows just to get his picture taken. SayerMotter Photographs by Richard Sayer
