I came of age in perhaps the most selfish time in American history--the 80's(maybe the 90's too can claim this). It was not my time. I didn't like most of what was going one, the popular music was....well lacking depth and I wasn't bright enough to find my way out of it. I envy kids growing up now--they can find anything there is out there via the internet...and though there are problems with this--its amazing what can be found. Music isn't controlled by the music industry anymore--it is out there for everyone to sample. Today I began making a wall of records, so I went through some old albums I have gotten over the years, seems I wouldn't turn down anything. I had music I know I've never really listened to more than once. After taking out the vinyl to nail to my studio wall I was going to store the sleeves away--and then thought why bother. I then thought about burning them and documenting that. I have several images that I liked out of this--this image of Styx Grand illusion album and one from Madonna and anther of Van Halen seemed to say a lot about letting the 80's go. I won't miss these albums, because I didn't really care for them in the first place. In the 80's, there was some really great music, but it wasn't really played on the radio back then---probably the same is true today...though I think more Violent Femmes are played on the air now than when they were first released in 80's. Rich, thank God you didn't have any Stevie Ray Vaughan album covers to burn.
Check out the flames on the right of your top photo. You will see a face of flames looking to the right. Looks kind of sad. Peace brother

Hey! Did you burn my Styx album? Yah, you're not going to miss it because it wasn't even yours.

And Van Halen wasn't yours either. And Madonna too - NOT YOURS! People, do you see what this guy is doing? He's burning everyone else's albums.
