When I first started to make posters for sports it came from a couple places. 1. I saw some studios offering posters and I felt they looked a bit generic and I wanted to see if I could design something somewhat unique. They have grown from simple to more and more complex with layering and blurring etc... I am also trying to learn new ways of making borders and using type-- and 2. I used to make illustrations for the Meadville Tribune athletes of the year that I would try to incorporate different things into to make them a little special. I did this for several years before they sort of ran their course. Now I'm going to try to figure out something new for the winter athletes, and I think that might come from me trying to do more and more of these posters until I find something that will get me going in a new direction. I tried to make a design for the fall athletes, but we ran out of time and didn't get it done in time to begin running the stories.
