Harmony and I love photography. We don't see just a portrait seesion as the only opportunity to make meaningful pictures...we see all moments in time as possibility to make good and meaningful photographs. Including getting ready for a photo shoot. What we lose in set up time we gain in real photographs...the lights can wait til when we need them--backgrounds are quickly made and moved--that sort of thing, but capturing something real--you have to be ready for that. So we often don't put the camera down and we try to be involved with anything that might lead to a good photograph that tells a story. Last nights late night shoot was about hair and a hair dresser and the process of making a do! So have several shots of Brittney working on Shannon's hair to go along with the shots in studio that showcases her creation. There may be more studio images to show in the future--we had fun making some serious and fun shots. Here are a few of the on-the-side candids that I liked. SayerMotter Photographs by Richard Sayer.

I love chance encounters! Sunday I went to a brunch at a friends house and it led to a discussion about making photographs of this hair stylist's creation which led to a phone call and a return call and a quick shoot tonight--just a few days later. The hair stylist is hoping to make it on to a reality TV show about---stylin hair. I don't know much about reality TV or what it takes, but I do like to photograph fun things---and this was fun. We made some fun and some serious pictures tonight of Shannon Lawrence's do create by Brittney Dalton. Brittney is headed to Chicago to learn more and make some styles to add to her portfolio---I wish I could tag along and do a story and make more pictures of her hair styles. Thats not going to happen, but I was glad I was able to photograph this hair tonight. SayerMotter Photograph by Richard Sayer.
I spent the afternoon in the Cosmetology Department of the Crawford County Career and Technical Center. My mom (those are her toes on the left side of the frame) and I (my sexy legs are located on the lower right) enjoyed a few hours of manicures and pedicures. It was wonderful! The student in the photo is Brittany and she was very accommodating with my picture snapping.---So if you have some free time on a Wednesday or a Thursday afternoon, be sure to stop by. My next appointment is already made for two weeks from now. It's facial time!! Those should make for some interesting pix. For more information about the Cosmetology Dept. call (814) 724-6024 ext. 221.
Gene Wisinski shares a moment with his son Dean Wisinski as he gives him a pat on the head during a Meadville hockey senior recognition ceremony held at the Meadville Area Recreation Complex. Dean is the CO-Captain of the hockey team and played his last home game of his high school career.
I have photographed the Wisinski's over the years. They seem to be a neat family. Meadville Tribune Photo By: Harmony Motter I have always been attracted to these silly little machines in an odd sorta way. A kid I once knew coined them 'rip-off machines,' which is so true. You end up spending six dollars on a plush toy that cost a company twenty-nine cents to make. What's the appeal? I can't really say. I just know that I like it!
