I don't have much time to devote to my own artwork these days. I am so behind in my client work that it eats up most every moment I have that I'm not teaching, eating, or working at the newspaper. My artwork, though in my mind is constantly evolving in thoughts and quick sketches seems to be mostly just that--in my mind. Like everyone needs a vacation or a weekend, I do as well. My 'vacation' comes in little moments that i take a break and just try to make something that has no other purpose than for me to work out an idea. And I'm never 100% sure what that will be, but it is beneficial to me. As I was waiting for my computer to burn discs and empty trash today, I didn't want to lose my focus on a clients work and mess it up--so i took a few minutes to look through a shoot i did awhile back for this new developing series that I hope to show next summer at the Meadville Council on the Arts in a group show with my friends Jim Stefanucci and Harmony Motter. This work is developing and I'm still not 100% sure what it will be when I'm done, but its fun playing with the ideas and seeing what I can stumble upon visually to help add to the meanings of the work. Here is a little sketch of an idea that I'm developing. Photographic work by Richard Sayer
