Today was sorta fun. I had about six assignments and stumbled into the need of a photographer for a seventh. It was busy and I didn't really have time to work assignments, but it was all out and about and not in the office and shooting some serious and not so serious pictures. A church dedication of a mural was about as serious as it got, I also photographed a nice man collecting money for MDA, a new salon owner, a big big truck, and football game on top of the pictures above. I may be fired come Wed. because I put a picture of my boss dressed in a Lion costume above, but its shows the type of person she is. She was willing to dig out of her closet an old halloween costume just to join in with her crew for --support your favorite college by wearing the colors day at the paper. I believe at the moment this picture was being snapped there was a threat being levied my way. I liked the reaction of the cheers to their coach joking around as if to jump over them as they posed for a picture( I would put it in the newspaper if I didn't sort of instigate the picture!) The top two were from the mural dedication, a nice quiet and serious event. I liked the picture of the artist throwing her hands up as she described making the mural to our reporter Lisa Byers, I don't think it really represented her demeanor very well so I wouldn't have used in the story for the paper, but it has an energy about it that I really like. The top picture is a woman in prayer. I remembered my grandmother Sayer saying the Lord's prayer to me when I was a little kid sleeping over her house. It was nice to see gramma's face again.
