I've always been fascinated with religious imagery. Paintings by many of the great masters I studied in years and years of art history drew me into the stories they seemed to be telling of hope. Many used symbolism that eventually became the iconography we associate with each religion and their belief structures. I recently photographed this stained glass window in a local church and I intended to use it somehow in a piece---though I had no idea what. Today I stumbled on it and it got me thinking of another piece I recently made and I thoughts I'd try something similar. I knew I had these photographs of Risa and began searching through them until I found the right image to combine with the window. I actually had another image entirely in mind, but when I saw this one I thought it might work quite nicely. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, but its fun to try things when they come up. It did distract me from a task I had to organize and set up a work station for myself and the business, but it is often worth allowing the distractions to take over.
